Mighty Mouse bugs

I have had my Mighty Mouse for two days and and have run into the same frustrating bug 3 times in 12 hours.
The bug is as follows:
Working on the computer in Photoshop CD2 when I accidentally press the side buttons a couple times in a row to get Expose to pop up.
After that the mouse no longer registers left or right clicks. The cursor will still move around the screen but I cannot chose any menus or move windows. I cannot even choose the shutdown command. The side buttons will still bring up Expose.
Unplugging the mouse and re-plugging it in does nothing. Plugging in ANOTHER mouse still has the same problem which proves it is a software bug.
The only solution is to choose restart with the keyboard (control command eject) to boot the computer.

Not had anything like that here, but then I don't use it in the same way.
However, I did notice that after I installed the software/driver, all my custom OS key-configs had been reset to default. Which was mildly irritating.

The worst thing about having a failing memory is..... no, it's gone.

I have also set the side buttons to Exposé and when I press them 2 times or more in a row I can still select stuff and the mouse buttons works fine. Must be your mouse.

I have done it a couple times also without the bug popping up.
Like I said plugging in a SECOND non-mighty mouse will have the same results PROVING 110% it is not the mouse but the drivers for the mouse.

It could just be your specific software configuration.

I've had it happen a couple of times, too. I don't really use those side buttons so I just turned them off. Still, I hope Apple fixes it.

I have had the same problem too. The only way to fix was a restart.

Ok, so I'm not the only one with the same issue.
I'm not even sure if you have to use Expose per se, though I do think that might be the trigger. Whatever the case, I'll be using the mouse, when suddenly, everything freezes up. I can still bring up the force-quit window, I can still get all the windows to move back and forth on screen with expose, but everything on the desktop is completely paralyzed, so I have to do a force shutdown by pressing and holding down the power button on my G5.
I had the bug 2-3 times in quick succession within 5 minutes. I was going to take the thing over to the Apple store tonight and see what they had to say, and if they'ed give me a replacement, help me fix it, or let me return it completely.

Now I know, and knowing is half the battle!

At first I thought the problem wasn't happening, as I was having no problem dragging an icon in the Finder, picking up the mouse, and continuing. But, at some point, I must have squeezed the mouse a bit too much, because Exposé activated itself and I lost the ability to activate button 1, 2 or 3 (wheel/ball button). The side squeeze button still registered for Exposé. Had to command-shift-Q to log out then back in.
Basically, since Apple's mice are designed for you to squeeze the side rails to lift the mouse while still holding the click down, if you squeeze too much on the Mighty Mouse, it'll activate the button action (which brings about the bug). Probably an easy software fix so hopefully a fix will be available soon.

Well I just decided to NOT get the Mighty Mouse. I'm waiting till a Bluetooth version, hopefully it will be fixed by then.

I have had this exact same problem recently with my Apple Wireless (Bluetooth) Mouse. Same exact problem where I can't click on anything (but the cursor moves around), and I must reboot to restore functionality.
Maybe this isn't just a Mighty Mouse issue, but a 10.4 mouse driver issue. (I hope it's not a Mighty Mouse issue, seeing as I just bought two yesterday. )
