I recently purcahsed an IOGEAR 4-Port DVI KVM Switch (GCS1764) for my Mac Mini+PC (FreeBSD) setup. Everything works great except whenever I switch back to my Mac Mini, OS X resets/re-detects my display/resolution, which causes windows on my desktop to shift downward and larger windows to resize themselves. I have my resolution set at 1280x1024 and I think OS X sets it to 1024x768 whenever I switch back but detects that my display does 1280x1024 natively and switches it back, causing my windows to shift. My FreeBSD machine running X.Org works nearly perfectly with the KVM .

Is there anyway to prevent OS X from doing this? This is getting annoying.
