Does anyone know which drive OWC uses in this model?

Did they do anything to the drive itself to make it work on the Mac?

or can we just buy the retail/oem drive, and put it in OS X to make it work?


Has anyone tried? I'm sure you can get it cheaper via the open market, but I'm afraid it won't work in the aluminum powerbook .....


any help would be great

I'm pretty sure OWC doesn't do anything to these to make them "Mac-compatible".

Just find the exact model and buy it. I've changed them in G4 towers but never in a Powerbook. I understand your reluctance, though.

Post back when you've done it to let us know if it worked.
