I'm going to be buying a new DP G5 soon, and it will be one with PCI-X slots. I have a lot of USB 2.0 peripherals and many of them won't work via a hub. I am looking for a 4 port USB 2.0 card that will work in a G5. I bought a Belkin 5 port model for my old Rev A. DP 1.8 and it caused all kinds of sleep issues, fans on full blast kernal panics.. Anybody got a PCI-X based G5 and a USB 2.0 card that works?

I heard of the same thing happening with computers not sleeping with USB cards installed. I got a hub instead.

"That's okay, I'd like to keep it on manual control for a while."

I would just do that too, but I've noticed that my Epson 3710 scanner, Canon MP780, and my sandisk CF card reader don't work with hubs, even powered ones......

Time to try a different hub, then. Some hubs suck, others work totally fine.
