As my right hand/wrist is developing carpal tunnel syndrome, I have resorted to using an ambidextrous mouse left handed.

However, I find myself constantly switching the mouse to my right hand for the dexterity. How difficult is it to adjust to using a mouse on the non-dominant side?

As an example, driving a manual in the UK was a piece of cake, but the moving to my left hand is proving somewhat frustrating.

Any hope/stories?

Get a track ball.

Just in case anyone cares, I have been using my mighty mouse left handed since i started this thread a few weeks ago. Here are some observations.

1. Switching sides with a mouse is not as difficult as left handed writing for a righty since it is not as dexterous a movement.

2. It is slower. My mouse movements are not as fast or as precise with my left hand but are getting faster as I use it more and it becomes more natural.

I'm sure that within a few weeks using a mouse left handed will become second nature, but until then, i'm going to stick with it. Now if only I could find a keyboard with the directions and number pad on the otherr side!!!!! Any left handed keyboards out there?

i'm left-handed, but switched to mousing with the right several years ago (out of necessity).

now i can mouse with either hand, equally as well (but have grown comfortable with the right)

keep at it and you'll adapt.

re: trackball. i have one, hate it. find it puts stress on my hand (as opposed to my wrist), and is much harder to do small, detailed moves.

however...same advice for me. if i keep at it...
