My local CompUSA has an ATI USB TV WONDER 2.0 for $99... can I connect this to my mac and use the software for the Elgato ATI(etc)2.0 or do I need an Elgato branded one to use Elgato's software?

The answer is yes, but Elgo won't sell you the software (when I last checked) as they want you to buy through them. Basically if you get a code for their software you can use any PC wonder on your mac, yes, verified by me.

Go to apple.com/ and buy it from them? Go to an Apple store, they carry the Elgato/EyeTV.

What if I already have an older usb eye-tv, do I still need to pay for the same software again even though I already have it. Doesn't seem fair to make me pay an extra $50 for the exact same software I have been using for years. How does the license work anyway. Has anyone with the old usb tuner also tried to connect a new eye-tv? do they both work at the same time?

You can also buy the alchemytv in the Apple store. I actually wouldn't buy anything at the retail Apple store since you can comparison price shop for these items and save between $30-40. Search for both of these items on pricegrabber.com, or pricewatch.com
