Okay, I have a 15" PowerBook with USB 2.0, FireWire 400/800, $500 and I'm looking for an external HD with atleast 200-250GB. Any suggestions?

First, read some of the other threads about this on this board.
Then, given your specs you'll have to get a 3.5" drive which means an external power source so you're down to brand.
Seagate is good but you can read lots of other opinions.

Hi Zaphod,
Buy a LaCIE - 250GB Firewire, you will not regret it!

I have 3 external HD's and an external DVR-109 - all built with firewire enclosures by me - cheaper that way and easy to do.

Got a LaCie after a friend had good experience with one. No complaints here. Good value, imo.
