hi

I have two rather large 21' monitors

one of them has a vga connector (it think male) as well as several round connectors - some labelled R G B

but the other monitor lacks any VGA and has only the round connectors

can this type of monitor be used with a pc/mac? or is it for something different

any ideas?

Those are BNC connectors, and a VGA-BNC cable such as this is all you need.

Most such displays have 5 connectors: R-G-B, plus H (horizontal sync) and V (vertical sync).

Note that BNC connectors are a sign of a high-end display; they carry a better signal than a VGA connector.
