I have OS X Tiger 10.4.2 and when I run the HP all-in-one installer it "quits unexpectedly" when it gets to the part of installing the scanner utility. I did manage to get the thing printing manually but I can't run any of the HP software. I used the latest HP drivers/software off their website which is supposed to be Tiger compatible. I have tried pretty much everything but it'll always fail at that precise moment. I've tried installing the Windows XP version of the software on virtual PC 7.0, worked fine BUT I can't scan with the HP software because it says the scan is either busy or absent...the weird thing is that the scanner is working perfectly if I use the network scan page when I type the local adress of the printer in a web browser...Printing is perfect and I can even download XD picture cards to my mac using the printer. Also, I installed the HP software on my PC laptop and everything works just fine (scanning/printing) via wireless network. Seems to me the printer is fine but not with Tiger 10.4.2... I'll call HP tech support tomorrow but now it's closed. Can someone help ?

Thank you

David

in case someone has this problem, simply drive you libray/preference folder to your desktop prior to installing. once your done installing delete the new preference folder and replace with your old one. works fine. this printer rocks and the software is good too. would highly recommend...
