I've had this mouse for a little while now. I really like the mouse, except that the extra buttons work on nothing besides expose. I haven't used the mouse in a couple of months, is there any way to get these working?

Sorry about the forum. I was confused because my mouse hardware is fine, it is the software that isn't working.

Anyways, It still doesnt. I have a regular intellimouse and i have the buttons on each side programmed to something, but my bluetooth mouse doesn't do anything when I click any of the extra buttons. It's a 5 button mouse, but only 2 buttons and the scroll work.

Yes, and if you push the scroll wheel, you'll find out that this third button works fine, too. The others aren't supposed to work without a driver, as it is the same with windows.

Google is your friend. But the answer seems to be no.

I have a Logitech MX900 mouse that has no logitech support for OS X. I was able to program all 9 of its buttons using the GamePad Controller preference pane. I'm not 100% sure that it'll work with a Microsoft Mouse but it would be a good place to start. You can download it here.

I do know that there are a few other 3rd party preference panes for otherwise unsuported multibutton mice running under OS X so if that doesn't work - Google it!!

I have the same mouse and the same problem with the buttons. Thanks for the heads up on GamePad Companion. I'll give it a try when I get home.

milenko11, thanks for asking the question. Why do you guys just say "google it" all the time? Even if the answer is out there, its nice to be able to come to these forums and find only relevant information, instead of sifting through the millions of pages of crap on google.

Gamepad Companion on Tiger periodically locks up Finder (actually, the WindowServer) on my Powerbook rendering the desktop unusable. I was using it with the MX900 but removed it after the problem(s) started. The symptom is that the mouse pointer moves and can cause window focus but neither button clicks nor the keyboard work. The WindowServer log says that an empty button 1 event occured (or something to that effect) and all events (button clicks, keyboard input, etc) are stopped. Once I removed Gamepad Companion the problem stopped. Guess I will have to write my own mouse driver for the MX900,
