The may be a simple thing, but how do I make my external hard drive (Lacie 160G USB) act as additional storage for my iTunes library. I have a ton of music on the external drive, way more than will fit on my already crowded 60G iBook. I want all the music in iTunes, of course, for organizational purposes.

I thought simply turning the drive on and adding the music to iTunes would work, but this just fills up my iBook drive.

I tried copying part of my iTunes library from my normal drive to the external, then deleting on my iBook to clear space. This did not work, as iTunes says "This song can't be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" Obviously, this annoying process is not what I want.

Can I move my library to a place on the external where iTunes can find it?

Or Is there a seamless way to accomplish this? Thanks.

Within iTunes, open the preferences, and click on the "Advanced" icon. From there you may change the iTunes Music folder location. (I haven't tried this across multiple hard disks, and this is with iTunes 4.8, but I assume this should work.)
