I'm looking for the best PCI tv tuner that will work in Tiger. Since I have a G4, USB 2.0 isn't an option, and I like PCI cards anyway. I'm also a little limited since I have an 867 mhz G4 but I still want smoothe playback. So what is my best option for below 150 bucks? I'm thinking about an AlchemyTV but am not sure if they're any good.

I have an AlchemyTV inside a B&W G3 and another one inside a MDD G4, both work great with Tiger. There is a difference between both computers if you use the Alchemy to record TV shows, with the G3 due to the CPU power you must do some work with the codec and resolution to use to get a video without dropping frames, with the G4 there is not such issue, this G4 is a 1,25 GHz model but with a G4 500 MHz it worked great, your CPU power is enough.

As example, I was able to record at a 'personalized' 500*382 resolution Motion JPEG B with the G3 350 MHz and it worked flawless, no drop frames at all.

I vote for the AlchemyTV DVR G4/G5 as well, excellent support by mail, frequent software updates and relatively cheap!

By the way, it's installed in my G4/1.467ghz

I have an Alchemy card in my G5 and it's worked great. No complaints at all.

Thanks for the input. I guess I'll be adding an alchemytv to my system. Not much room at college for a tv, but my brand new 19" lcd will do, thanks fatwallet .
