Why wouldn't it? How else could it be the most intuitive OS in the world if it didn't work?

Shouldn't you check that the device that you buy works with OSX?

Searching the forum will help you as well.

It certainly works with Dlink Bluetooth dongles. I have three Bluetooth devices hooked to my eMac using a Dlink dongle. I just plugged it in and everything ran, absolutely no problems at all.

Why would you think otherwise?

The Dlink dongles state clearly that they're OS X compatible. If they so stated and were NOT compatible, there'd be a lot of comments about it. Most stores will accept returns if the box says that the item should work, but it doesn't. Certainly the Apple Store around here does. There's even an Apple Knowledge Base article about Dlink dongles, at <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25598>! And Apple sells 'em, both at their online store and at their brick-and-mortor stores! Did you even check before posting?

Nameless USB bluetooth dongles MAY work, but it's not guaranteed. You should check with the hardware manufacturer.

Obviously, if you don't want to waste your money, you should buy the D-Link dongle that is guaranteed to work. This is something that I told a Windows-using friend who bought an iBook, because he loves to just buy the cheapest POS possible without doing any prior research (it really bugs me >< ). Luckily the bluetooth dongle he got from eBay—which was only a few dollars cheaper mind you!—worked fine with OS X.

Yes. Worked perfectly with my DLink Bluetooth adapter.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

AFAIK, the D-Link module sold on the Apple website and at the Apple retail stores uses the same bluetooth chipset as the Apple modules (at least the original ones, not the BT2.0+EDR they're using now). In fact, Apple's own bluetooth firmware updates work with the D-Link units as well (but have the side-effect of making them incompatible with Windows PC, if anyone cares).

I have two of the D-Link modules; one on my G5 and one on my G4 tower.

Did you go to High School? or College? You obviously wasted money on that education so what's the big deal with a bluetooth device? Chump change.
