I have 120 gig Iomega external firewire hard drive that I use for backups. The problem is that it frequently just unmounts and I have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to remount. I often come home and find that Backup can't find the drive so it doesn't do it's daily backup. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Could be a problem with (1) the unit's power supply, (2) the unit's hard drive mechanism, or (3) the unit's ATA to Firewire adapter circuitry.

In any case, sounds like you need a call to Iomega tech support (if Iomega has any left).
