This is probably pretty obvious. I just want to make sure so that I don't get stuck with a bunch of coasters. I have the original SuperDrive in my 1G G4 dual - so it's 1X speed. Can I buy 8X DVD+R Media and still use it at 1X. I thought I remember hearing something about the earliest Superdrives having problems with 2x or 4X Media when they first came out.

Thanks,
Lou

As far as I know, those drives can only write to DVD-R, not DVD+R media, however that may have changed since I had one..
