Hey guys,
Two more questions, how many minutes can I put on a disc of TV shows for them to play on my dvd player? also, eye tv 200 or 300? Which would be better if I dont have HD or just overall?

Thank ya!

I have an eye tv 200... It works great! I dont have HD.. and the picture quality on my 27 sony tv is really nice when playing off a tivoed show..

You can chose how much you can fit on a disc by the resolution that your record it in. If i remember correctly you can get 80 min, 180 min adn 240 min recording. So at 80 mins you could get almost 3 full half hour shows..

Overall I have been very happy with the eye tv.. they are on sale at elgato last time i looked for 200 shipped..

I have a couple of questions about hte Eye Tv 200:
Has anyone used this device as a mpeg encoder of vhs etc, if so, what is the quality like? and is there any extra encoding time other than inputting your vhs tape? before you can make a Dvd?
Thanks in advance

Sorry for the confusion.. it depends on the quality you would like.. You set it up prior to recording the show... so 80 min to a dvd would obviously be the highest quality and 240 be the lowest... I normally use 180 and have no problem getting 3 shows on a dvd and playin back wonderfully on my tv..

Also they have an edit feature where you can go through and cut out the commericals prior to exporting out of eve tv to a burnable form...

to the second question about encoding.. at least for tv once you record the show you need to "export" it out of the eye tv format and into a number of different media options for playback or burning... So my guess would be yes there is an encoding stage.. but at least for the 1 hour clips that i have been doing, it is normally pretty quick.
