Can anyone shed light on this: On my dual 2 ghz Power Mac G5, I cannot use airport and my Firewire 800 connection at the same time. If I'm online and turn on my external 800 firewire hard drive, airport connection is broken. What gives?

More info...

Which OS?
Has this always happened?
Does it only happen if you turn the drive on while you're online?
Does it happen if you boot with the drive on?

Admittedly, my hardware-fu is not strong. I'll probably end up recommending a clean install.

There was a reason I called it an "uneducated guess".

I'm sorry, but if somebody tells me that their windshield wipers won't work when they're in second gear, without any additional info, my first reaction is slight sarcasm.
