My 2x1.25 G4 has stopped reading its firewire ports. Something happened after I switched over to tiger about a month ago, and now it is not reading correctly. Last week, I tried mounting an external lacie d2 160 Gb, and it would not mount. No blue light, no clicking, no sound, nothing. Which is what I expected to occur. However, now this drive will not mount on any of the other G5/G4's in my office. I assume that the firmware has been blitzed in the LaCie, although I don't really know how that occured. I am wondering if it is possible to remount the drive once this has occured so that I can repair the firmware? If anyone knows of a way to reconnect after this has occured, please let me know. Thanks in advance

Does the hard drive spin up when you turn it on while it is NOT connected to the computer?

Because that does NOT sound like a software problem, nor a firmware problem.

More like a dying power supply or some such.

Is the green LED on the power supply brick still on?

When connected to other computers it will power and even spin, light comes on the whole shabang, but will not mount. not viewable through disk utility either. I am not sure but I think it is a bridge issue mainly. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
