My family has decided to get me an Apple 20" Display for Christmas. I am extremely happy and excited about this. Does anyone have any suggestions, advice, or important things I should know for someone who is switching from a Dell F-70p 19" to this new Apple display, or really, anything about the Apple display. And, if you have one, tell me what rating you would give it out of 10.
Thanks.

Hey! I got a 20" Cinema not too long ago... i'll review it for ya
Screen: 9/10
Features: 8/10
Style: 10/10
Integration / Installing / Etc: 7/10
The screen is brilliant, and after using an iBook for so long, followed up by a powerbook, as well as lots of CRTs... this display is AMAZING. I have 2 dead pixels, otherwise this would be a 10!
The firewire hub, and the usb hub are amazing, and ever so useful (and discreet!) I was really happy that they worked it into the design. The touch-power button is nice, and so are the brightness/contrast (and if you don't like them, you can turn them off in prefs). This was an 8, because unlike many monitors, it has no mic port or mic. It would have been really nice if apple just popped in a $20 mic into the top of this... and make it as subtle as the powerbooks. Also, after not much use it can very very hot to the touch.
It looks beautiful, and there is are no visual design changes I would make, hence the 10.
As for my lowest score, as a 7, this is mostly due to the cabling lengths. The way that all the cables are set up, you have USB, DVI, and Firewire which go into your computer, and a power cable that goes to its stupid power box. I hate power boxes like this, they ALWAYS get in the way, and the length of the cables were just short enough that the box was hanging off of the back of my desk (not ideal) If Apple had made these cables all just a little longer and easier to deal with, it would have been a smoother transition and installation. If they had fit the transformer (power box) inside the monitor without many changes, I would be much happier.
I guess with all said and done... I would buy a second one the moment I had the funds to. This is a very very nice monitor, and definitely worth the investment. Hope you enjoy yours

This is just my opinion. I was at an Apple store the other day and looked at the same website on a 20" and a 23" right next to each other and I thought the 20" "looked" better. It just seemed sharper and clearer.
I think you'll like this monitor a lot.

I bought a 20" ACD about 3 weeks ago from the local Apple Store and love it!. The screen is brilliant! I have had absolutely no problems. no dead or stuck pixels. Simply pristine. I dont mind the power brick since it matches the monitor and is fairly small. One thing to avoid: Dont place your iBook next to the 20". You will find you iBook screen to be dim and dull compared to the 20"!
Other than that, I sometimes like having no other lights on in the room and the brightness of the display can make seeing the keyboard difficult. I fixed that by plugging in a Kensington USB light in the USB port on the ACD and bending the light stalk to shine down from the bottom of the ACD. Works like a charm!
