i think i have palm lust again?

this is a bit crazy. i've been through a palm iii, handera330, sony sj20 and now have a tungsten E. i still use my palm everyday as i have for the past 8 years or so, but am not so fervent about it anymore. i used to carry it with me everywhere. now it stays at work a lot and just goes to meetings with me or whatever.

but this. 320x480 screen. bluetooth and 802.11b. 100MB built in non volatile memory. only $299. this is probably the first high end palm i can think of that didnt have a price that made me cringe. and with the feature set that people have been clammoring for, for years.

credit card, foul temptress.

I'm on the fence again with investing in another Palm product myself. The new Z22 is incredibly tempting at $99 but I've learned to live without one since my handy m505 died. It might be a whim purchase if I'm impressed with the screen (I've heard the battery life is incredible) but it might end up being one more thing I have to stuff in my pockets when I leave for work every morning.

As you can probably tell, I don't need the WiFi or the SD slot of the T|X (which I think is a great deal if you need that kind of thing). I'd use mine mostly for contacts, calendar stuff, and having a read-only copy of my classic video game inventory. If my job made me go to lots of meetings where I had to look up stuff on-the-fly I might consider the T|X, though.

I'm still happy with my TC, but if they ever make another with a keyboard and built in WiFi, I'd take a long look.

Honestly, my favourite Palm based handheld is still the Sony Clie...the one with the built in digital camera, swivel screen and keyboard. Loved that unit...so pricey...but beautiful!

Do you use your Clie with your Mac? I've always liked the Clies...

Really. naPalm's current OS is way behind the times.

LifeDrive has features I want, but not with the current OS (and price). Slap Linux or Symbian in there -- no brainer.

Please...someone buy naPalm and put them out of their misery.

Well said. As a former Newton user it is sad to see Palms OS today which is still behind the Newton from 1993.

It would be cool if Apple would license the Newton OS for handhelds -- including those Win mobile devices. They could clean up.
