Hi, can I use my 20" cinema display as a TV? I want to hook my DVD player and Sattelite TV box up to it. Is there some type of box or card that I can use? Does anyone have experience with these products? Any suggestions would help. I have Dual 2.0 Ghz G5, Rev B. THanks.

As long as your Satellite receiver and DVD player have DVI out and your 20* Cinema display uses DVI and supports TV/HDTV/DVD resolutions (i.e. 704x480 for 480i (p) 720x480 for DVD 1280x720 for 720p and/or 1920s1080 for 1080i (p)) you should be fine.

I could, but I also want to use it as my computer monitor. So it would actually double as a TV. That means I can't use the DVI connector. Any other ideas?

Well, you can watch TV through your computer with something like the EyeTV 200. It has cable, composite and s-video inputs and good software. For HTDV, there's the EyeTV 500.

Considering that the DVI connector is the ONLY connector, you can't really hook up your DVD player or satellite box to it.

The only way would to be get something that will pass video into your computer as the previous poster specified.

There might be a device that can take two DVI inputs and allow the user to choose one of them for the output, just turn a knob to choose between computer and tv...
