I'm looking into getting a BT mouse for my iBook (newer one w/ BT standard), and would also like to upgrade my desktop system while I'm at it. I'm looking at getting this cordless desktop. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/pr...&ad=hpb_mx5000 Does anyone have any experience with this desktop? I know many of the more advanced features won't be supported, but I'm wondering if they work as a normal keyboard or mouse, or do they not even do that.

I own the MX 5000 Desktop and use it mainly on my Windows PC.

However, I also bought this particular keyboard/mouse combination to use it on my iBook from time to time. Here is what I experienced:

1. The mouse works good, although some of the additional buttons do not work (as expected).

2. The Keyboard is a problem. It connects allright and the keyboard-identifier tool pops up, but non of the keys show any response. The only thing that does work is the volume-control slider. Very Strange. I would really appreciate any suggestions.

I just bought an MX5000, and am typing now through my ibook. I'm using the included bluetooth usb dongle and have bluetooth turned off on my ibook.

I can't get much besides the basics to work. I'd like to program the extra mouse buttons. Keyboard media control would be nice to use too. Keep me updated on your progress.

Hi Dan,

wow, this way the keyboard really works! Thanks a lot, I never thought about using the dongle directly on the iBook since there are no Mac OS X drivers in the package.

Regarding the mouse, in other forums people suggested to install this tool:

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/do...id=9471,OSID=9

It is called Logitech Control Center and it allows you to assign actions to the wheel button, the mouse buttons and the wheel.
