External hard drive won't eject...any ideas?

	Hi I just cloned my 10.3.9 to a new la Cie external hard drive onto a partition using superduper. Very easy rebooted from the clone and all is well. Shutdown and rebooted from my internal drive, again all seemingly well then went to eject the external and it won't let me - keeps saying it is in use and to shut down all applications. They are all closed I even went back into the clone to see that everything was shut down. Any ideas? Thanks
