I have a 23" ACD and am looking for:

1) VESA compatible - need to mount on an arm
2) 15-17" with compact case - I'd get an 20" apple if I had the room...
3) Not essential but relatively close aesthetic match would be nice

To be used for photoshop, Aperture, etc. Basically pallettes so it doesn't have to be top quality.

Any recommendations??

HP has a silver 17" LCD, but it's VGA (yuck!) and not VESA mountable.

NewEgg has 10 silver 17" DVI LCDs... but none of them mention VESA mounts (one mentions VESA DPMS, but that doesn't do you any good).

1) and 2) are satisfied by the Dell 1704FPV... are black and silver a good aesthetic match for you? I'm not an artist.
If you're happy with the Dell's aesthetics, measure the available space and compare to the size of the 20" Dell... the bezel on it is pretty thin, and it's a newer revision of the same panel as the 20" ACD.
