I have an ATi remote wonder thing, the radio frequency usb mac remote. It works great, but, what i wanna do is get a tv, and hook up a mac mini to one of its inputs. But i need a way to control them with 1 remote. So what im hoping is that someone makes a usb receiver that I could program any old universal remote to, and program a function to each button just like i do now with the ati and my old keyspan remote. I can think of no other way to meld mac and tv. Well there is one other way. My current setup is a blue G4 with a PCI tv tuner card, so I control everything with my ATI remote because everything is through the mac. But that has its own problems so I'd really like to retire that old tower and replace it with a nice fast small low power mac mini.

Wow that is amazing. None of those work with OS X or even do what I'm looking for on the PCs they do work with. But still, amazing none the less!!!

Oh nice, I didn't know the DMR did that. Can you use ALL of the buttons on the remote? I'm going to have to see if I can find my old DMR.

I have a pair of Keyspans hooked up to a pair of Airport Expresses.
They work as advertised, and are a vital part of my setup, though I wanted to warn you of my experiences with them and universal remotes.
The "track forward" and "track backward" keys don't seem to get learned very well by my remotes (one is a Sony and one is a Logitech). Forward is worse than backward. I can usually only get the receiver to recognize the "forward" command if it immediately follows a different command. I usually end up hitting "track backward" and then "track forward" to get the desired result, though as I said, "track backward" can be spotty too. No other keys seem to display this problem, they are all learned without problems. The supplied remote also has no problem with either command.
I have no explanation for this behavior.
Other than that, I love 'em.

I mapped a 31 key JVC remote to my Keyspoan DMR receiver months ago. I don't even know where the little remote that came with it is. Every button is recognized, and each has a function for different apps (MPlayer, VLC, iTunes, EyeTV, QTPlayer, etc.). Thanks to the power of the DMR software, I have even set up global settings for power volume keys.
If you can find one, grab it. Since it appears to be discontinued, you should be able to get one cheap.

Thanks for the info.
If I had to guess though, I'd probably say the problem is related to it being plugged into an Airport Express instead of a computer.
I guess this means I do have an explanation for it's behavior. But it's really only a guess.
It's ultimately not too big a deal. I tend to use party shuffle anyways, so I'm not tracking around all that much.
