Need help choosing a scanner

I'd like to walk into the store and pick up a scanner that will let me scan a box of photos and then some negatives, and then rarely use. Anyone have any good reccomendations, I don't want a piece of crap, and I want my photos to look as good as possible, but I'm not going to have any professional asperations with this thing.

Canon and Epson have a bunch of good options.
