Howdy,

my 15 month old Deskstar 40Gig has started getting bad blocks - lots of them. Anyone else experiencing this? I ran Nortons against it - took forever to diskdoctor the thing (like 8 hours) and I now feel as though the drive will turn its toes up any day now.

Not happy Jan

You get a 3 year warranty from IBM on those drives. Check out IBM.com for the details on returning the drive. Sorry for the problem but I don't think it's something exclusive to IBM Deskstars.

IBM's website will let you punch in your drive's serial number to determine if the warranty is still valid.
