I have a 220U scanner and was hoping UMAX would get me a OS X driver.

Whe I wrote I got this reponse:

We have received countless request for drivers on operating systems
9.2,9.2.1,9.2.2 and OS X. As a mac user, I regret having to inform you, a
Umax customer, that any further plans to develop drivers have not
progressed. I am very sorry about the disappointment. If any drivers are
created for these operating systems, the only scanners that will be included
are the 6400 and 4400 series scanners.

If you have any further inquiries regarding this issue, you may write us a
letter, and mail it to:

Umax Technologies, Inc.
10460 Brockwood
Dallas, TX 75238

Thank You

That sucks...I have a UMAX 2200. It's not supported by VueScan (and I don't want to pay for a third-party driver, anyway).

Those useless wankers have been stringing us along for months. Why didn't they come clean so we could give up on them and buy decent scanners instead. The last e-mail I had from them said drivers would be available in May but specifically avoided answering my question about drivers for the 1220U. They knew then but wouldn't say.

This is the last money I spend with Umax. I hope they suffer for the bad press this should cause.

yeah, i've been pretty pissed about this for awhile now. you'd think it wouldnt be so bad because I still run Photoshop 6, in 9, but the only way i can get the scanner recognized is if I reboot in 9. Pain in my ass.

I just recently upgraded to os x and I've been trying to use my scanner and am having lots of problems. You say it works in 9? What do I have to do to get it to work? I haven't upgraded any drivers since I bought it a few years back. Could that be the problem? I'm quite ignorant about how this computer works so I could use any help I can get. Thanks so much. I have a umax 1220u.
