Hey... I would like to buy an MP3-CD Player but before I do that, I want to hear some comments about some of them (that are Mac compatible!).

Thanks!

I saw one of those mp3-cd players at the apple store. i forgot the company and the other details (doh). started with an R.. rio? i dunno.

it was pretty compact, just like most cd players. it had a 10-40 second ESP and also had a remote control. cost less than 200 bucks. i'd buy it if i had a cd-rw and no mp3 player.

I have the Sonic Blue Rio Volt player. It costs $169. I can burn CD-Rs and CD-RWs in both Mac or Windows formats and it will read the MP3 files. You have the option of 10 or 40 sec skip function. It will read MP3s up to 320 bit. I have made CDs at 4X with 320 bit files and reads them just fine. It also supports ID3 tags.
On one disc, I burned 255 songs (it's upper limit to read) for a total of 11 hours, 40 minutes of music! If you have more than 255 files, it will just ignore the rest past 255 songs.
The nice thing is that when it plays a song, it uploads it into memory and stops the CD until the next song (128 bit songs), giving you more battery life.
It can also scroll through directories if you divide up your files into folders. I like it and think its a great choice. No doubt a year from now, there will be MP3 CD players much better, but for now, it's great.

TDK's Mojo has had great reviews. It has an 8-min buffer where it actually spins the cd down periodically and then loads another 8 minutes (and so on). It not only preserves battery life, but functions like a solid state player. Has great indexing features, as well.

Well, I also heard that the SonicBlue Volt had a 9/10 review on CNET! But they say that it has a very bad designed carrying case. Is it really that bad? Because besides that, there wouldn't be a single reason NOT to buy it!!!
