Can't mount external volumes

	Hello All I have a Graphite imac and I am unable to mount My Ibook ( started up in Target disc mode ) and neither will a USB flash memory device ( "Disk on Key" ) mount on the desk top. Both devices easily mount when plugged into my friends B&W G3. When the devices are plugged in and I restart my iMac they mount succesfully. Can anyomne tell me why these devices won't mount from the get go?. Thanks Tom
