What is the best card out currently shipping? I have a dual core G5 1.5GB and it shipped with the GForce 6600LE with 128mb.

Figured I would get a 7800GT after a month..but they are not avail to buy for Mac it seems. (will the apple store sell me one?)

What do you recommend? I do a lot with Motion and Aperture and want to speed up the display. A few suggestions of a card that I can get shipped asap would be great! Like to go $300-$500 but can go higher if needed. Something quiet would be nice but that might be wishful thinking...

Thanks!

Frank

The Quadro FX 4500 is the best card for running Motion and Aperture on your PowerMac. The 7800GT is a lot cheaper and comes close in performance, but you can't buy it without buying a PowerMac at the same time, yet.
I'd speculate that Apple will have a retail 7800 in a few months, and I think it may be one of the faster GTX or GTX 512MB chips instead of the GT.
