I think I heard other people saying they too had this problem, but my computer crashes with the DMR running when iTunes is launched. So, you can't launch iTunes from the DMR via the finder or have it connected and running when you manually launch it. One thing you can do is disconnect the USB cable while the launch occurrs (but this defeats the point of a remote). Anyone know if there's going to be an update out soon or any more workarounds. I guess you could disable the software temporarily too. Perhaps using an Applescript that would allow the finder to launch the script, quit the DMR app, launch itunes, and then startup the app again.

So sad... I bought the DMR when I preordered OS X so I could use it with iTunes. So you can imagine my dissapointment to find out that the two couldn't play nicely together. So, so upsetting. The applescript idea isn't all that bad...I'll just have to teach myself the coding.

Yeah, Keyspan better get their act together and get a fix out there for OS 9 for iTunes. Also, they need to have an OS X version coming soon. Since OS X hasn't shipped, I wouldn't be worried about it not working with it yet.

I've figured it out! When you start up iTunes, the computer doesn't freeze, only the program does. While an applescript might work to fix this, there is an even easier workaround. When iTunes appears to freeze upon loading, simply press any key on the DMR. iTunes then loads up without a hitch. Hope this helps!

With iTunes 1.1, mine seems to work better (though not perfectly). Any experience elsewhere?

This is not a Keyspan issue, that DMR has been out for over a year and works with SJ, Audion, and any other app. It's an iTunes issue; and if it isn't fixed I'll use SoundJam.

Hopefully, Apple has addressed this in their iTunes update.

The update does fix it for me, but Keyspan told me that their software caused the problem and that they had an update in the works.
