I'm need to reformat a 100 Mb Mac-formatted Zip disk in PC format, but I'm having no luck. The only two options available are Mac OS Standard and Mac OS Extended. Should I not be able to format it in PC format? I have a G4 running OS 9.2.1.

thanks, Martin.

This is not going to be a lot of help, but I asked this before and I don't think you can do it on a Mac. You might want to try it on a PC, but that might not work either. I just bought a ibm formated disk.

Yes, you can certainly reformat the disk on a Mac running OS 9.x. Download the Iomega Tools package from any download site.

pc-formatting was actually removed in system 9. i could do it (and did do it) in 8.5 and 8.6.
Macola's right - the iomega tools will do it.

Hmmm...I have Iomega Tools v6.4.1 and they give me the same two options as I mentioned originally. I'll try downloading a newer version of the Tools to see if that is of any help.

-- I just downloaded a new version and now have the DOS option present for reformatting the disk. Yay!!!

I was aware that it could be done in the previous versions of the Mac OS, had done it, but I did not know that there was an option available to do so now, go to know.
