HP scanjets require a the HP Scan Manager software to be fired off upon boot up. I would like to stop this from happening. Does anybody know were this occurs. Please don't tell me to look inside my login items with in my account. It's not there.

Does it suck up virtual memory for you too? Once I looked and it had claimed greater than 3.5 gb of VM. Also interested in this answer.

I was using the latest drivers that I downloaded from HP's website. I believe were 8. something. Anyway I solved my problem, at least temporarily. I unplugged the scanner and deleted the drivers. After the holidays I'm going to buy a new Canoscan 8400f.
