Hi,
I recently got a 60 gig firewire harddrive for my Tibook. I seem to be having a little problem with it. Files take up much more room on my firewire drive than they do on my internal drive. For instance, I have one folder that take up 546 mb on my internal drive, but when I copy that same folder to my new firewire drive it takes 3.1 gb! Does anyone know what's happening? Is it a formatting problem? If so how do I format the firewire drive? Thanks in advance for any help.

Am I going crazy or did you post more or less exactly the same thing elsewhere last week?

If that wasn't you, somebody else was asking *exactly* the same thing.

Search for the thread; there were some interesting responses.

Short form: your external disk should be formatted as HFS+ (a.k.a. "HFS Extended"). You can do this with Disk Utility. It will erase everything on that drive, so make sure you have it backed up.
