I'm running OS 9 on a sliver tower with desktop printing to a networked PS printer.
My problem is that for no known reason (this is a lab situation) I get an X over the desktop printer and items sent to print fail to do so with no error message. If I try to open the print monitor I get a message that I cannot do so because the printer is disabled. If I trash that printer and try to create a new one I get only setup and cannot create a new printer. Also the printer icon remains beside the printer in the chooser window. Can anybody tell me how to re-enable the printer, or just kill it so I can make a new one? Thanks.
Rebuilt the desktop, also zapped pram and trashed appleshare startup file- no help
Will try trashing the printer prefs
need to print so starting without printer extentions does not seem like an answer.
