First of all, I don't own an iPod yet, so please forgive my ignorance if this is a completely stupid question.

I was wondering. Is it possible to rig up some device where if I want to listen to my iPod in my car, I could simply put the ipod into a cradle (Iike a palm pilot/visor into their cradles) and by doing this the ipod is automatically ready for use? It would be nice to be able to do this as the current methods seem to usually involve wires hanging all over the place and the iPod freely moving about. When I was a kid, people would add their own cassette players by mounting the unit under the dash near the floor. Something like this would be very handy.

thanks,

lw

Is it possible? Of course. Almost anything is possible. It would be a cool hack.

Some places to start: get a car stereo with line-in, and some kind of power source.

Post pictures when you are done.

Actually, I just read a story about a VW Jetta that would be a special iPod edition - with just such a hack, only the hack is built straight by VW.

How cool would this be?
