Just thinking aloud here, but it struck me that the iPod, although wonderful, is one of a breed of MP3 players (ones that use small hard drives) that will surely die out in a few years. To me one of the main attractions of MP3s is that you can have a solid state player with no moving parts, which will be extremely reliable, cheap!, shock proof, light & small. ie - as small as the smallest mobile phones currently available. Obviously, the current limitation is storage. I don't know how big the largest capacity flash-rom or whatever you want to call it is, I imagine it's a massive way short of 10GB. But surely this will change over the next few years, and then who would want a hard drive based player? Excuse my inchorent ramblings!
