Hi all.

Does anyone know if the iPod headphone jack supports video out (like the one in the iBook?).

no it does not. the extra prongs are exactly like the "pro speaker" jack on the new imac though, no one has figured out waht it is used for.

I was actually thinking more along the lines of being able to play an mpeg movie (or two or three) straight out of the iPod....

no it is not possible, as i said. but the extra prongs on the jack are rumored to be connectors for a remote.
