I was in the local Apple store last night and tried one for the first time. I was very underwhelmed. I really didn't care for it. It's possible of course that my feelings were partly because I'm just used to a standard mouse.
Who here is using a Mighty Mouse and likes it? Just curious.
Thanks in advance!

I like mine. In my opinion, the scrolling and tracking is very smooth. It took a little bit to get used to, but, now that I have, I think it's excellent. The one thing that I don't use and dislike are the side buttons. I think that it would've been much better if they would've left them as independent buttons.

I will buy a mighty mouse when Apple hires Logitech to make white MX510/518 series mice. I'll pay an extra $10-15 for the white and apple logo... lol. I will not buy a mighty mouse when there's so many better mice on the market.

The scroll ball is better than any scroll wheel. The side buttons are almost useless.

I prefer a traditional scroll wheel to the scroll ball. It's personal taste, really, not that one is better than the other.

The scroll ball is neat, but nothing special. I also discovered that I naturally lift my index finger when I right click anyway so I never had any problems with that like others did. I know it's a lame excuse, but after being cordless for so long I just couldn't get used to the cable again, it always bugged me. The mighty mouse sits in my drawer and the bluetooth pro mouse has center stage again.
If the mighty mouse went wireless I'd snap it up right away because I don't have any other problems with it.

See, I have zero interest in any wireless mouse.

I like it overall. I use it with my powerbook when I'm at home on my desk. I absolutely love the scroll ball, and miss that feature when I use any other mouse. Don't like the side buttons at all, tho'. And I have to say the MX5/7/9 series of mice are my favorites so far...

THE overwhelming reason to own a Mighty Mouse is for the scroll ball. Now that I have it, it drives me nuts that my mouse at work only has a scroll wheel. I just wish that all applications supported it.

IMHO the side buttons aren't worth squat. The scroll ball gives me more freedom than a scroll wheel although most wheels offer more feedback. All in all, I like the MM and I bought myself two (one for each PowerBook). Nothing to strongly crave for, but certainly a decent replacement for the standard Apple USB Mouse.
