I have Toast 4.1.1 and a que fire 8x4x32x with my imac 400 dv se 128mb ram and os 9.1. every time i go to toast, it says--no recorder detected, check power and lines. well, i have done that and it is perfectly connected. i have burned 30 or so cds succesfully before this point. i have checked the firewire extensions and they are fine. WHAT IS WRONG?!?!?!?!

same problem as you - I have emailed the tech support at QPS. I hope to get a
satisfactory reply from them. In the mean time - help!

Don't know what your problem is but I highly recommend you upgrade to Toast 4.1.2 as it solves a couple of major issues with the que fire 8x 4x 32x (added noise at the end of tracks and hangs for some people) it just might solve your current problem too.

I had the exact same problem. My QPS Firewire 8x4x32 CD-RW drive worked fine under the OEM version of Toast 4.0.1 that came with the drive, but when I bought the Deluxe 4.1.2 version, the drive was no longer recognized by Toast.

Turns out there is an extension conflict between Toast's drivers and the Que! Fire extension. I disabled the Que! Fire extension and everything now works fine.

Hope this helps in your situation.
