airport works in os9.2 but not in osx 10.4

Any idea?
Basically the airport card is not seeing any networks
It is detected, just doesnt see any networks. If I reboot into os9.2 it works perfectly.
I have applied the latest 10.4 update and the latest airport update. (by downloading them in 9.2 and then rebooting into 10.4 and running them)
Any help is VERY appreciated
