I just got my hands on a voodoo 5500 for the Macintosh. I installed the card in my system a MP 500 G4 and a have refresh problems. I have a 21" studio from apple and a 21" sony GDM-F500.

The problem I am having is that the refesh rates are all jitter on either monitor when I try to do anything above 1024x768. I have tried 75 and 85 hertz which I know works and work very well with the ATI 128.

Is here a fix for this? Has anyone else had this problem or is my card defunk?

We were just a bunch of sawgie old men eating egg salad sandwitches in a card board box, playing tease the wild wolverine in a confind space.

I got impatient with my Radeon on backorder, so I ordered a Voodoo 5 when I heard about the spiffy rebate and I have this EXACT same problem with my G4/400 and Apple 17" studio display. I spent a weekend trying a base set of OS 9.0.4 freshly installed, to no avail. I would be willing to put up with it temporarily and find a workaround if the performance of the card was good, but frankly, it sucks. For $300 I was expecting a lot more than meager framerates in 3D and buggy 2D acceleration. IMHO this is a decent $150 card with some software issues to work out. For $300, it's going straight back to Outpost and I'll live with the Rage 128 until I get my Radeon...drool...
