I am a big fan of LaCie's displays (both the 19" and the 22"). LaCie uses Mitsubishi DiamondTron displays - which I feel are the best CRT displays on the market. The 19" LaCie will set you back about $600, but everyone I know who owns one is very happy and impressed.

(side-note: where is Woodbridge CT? I lived in New Milford for a while.)

Alright I'll look into lacie monitors as well... the iiYama's also have a Mitsu DiamondTron CRT as well...

(side note: Woodbridge is in the New Haven county actually, to the north of the city... exit 59 on route 15 to be more precise... I never knew there was a New Milford, heh...)

I'm pretty partial to the Hitachi Superscan monitors. I've got a Superscan Elite 751. It's like .22 dot pitch, 1600x1280 resolution (I run 1152x870@99Hz because of my sucky video card ixMicro), high brightness.

I'm not sure what the current model costs, but I'm really happy with mine. In fact I think its better than the $3000+ monitors (Monitronix) we built when I worked there (10 years ago.)

That hitachi uses an Invar Shadow Mask; Apeture Grille is superior to it. I think I have made my mind on this iiYama monitor...

I have a LaCie electron19blue. First of all the screen is fantastic. You won't be disappointed. The real reason I bought this monitor is it has TWO monitor inputs and TWO upstream USB ports. My G3 is plugged into one monitor port and one USB port and I have an IBM laptop plugged into the other monitor port and upstream USB port. All I have to do is push the BNC/D-SUB button on the front of the monitor and now I have a fully functional PC with a 19" monitor using my Apple keyboard & mouse. The laptop stays closed under my desk. It works absolutely perfectly & seamlessly. All my peripherals are USB and cross-platform. If you ever think you might need to run PC software, forget Virtual PC or any other option. If you buy the LaCie monitor you can get a $400-500 PC and go crazy.

I have the iiyama VMPro 450 and am very happy with it. I compared it with several different brands showing the same picture at an electronics supply and was impressed with the color and how sharp even very tiny text (within an icon, for example) displayed. I like the flat screen too.
