Does anybody know if it's possible to use an HP 8200e series (USB) CDRW with a Mac?
anybody attempted this?

make search here - the discussion is quite old.
There are 2 answers to that depending on your skills.

1. Yes it is possible (in theory)
2. not easily.

1. HP just plainly f*c*e* all mac users by changing the usb bridge chip (or specifications)
so ALL current writer sw just hangs.

it might be so that Nero Max and/or Toast titanium WILL include updated drivers fir this device.
Just sit there and wait.

2. Use VPC (or real PC)
Make disk image with toast or whatever later will be accepted as iso image in the PC counterpart- it works - it rewrites as well.

Consult the Drive compatibility Database at www.xlr8yourmac.com

I remember from that database some people had problems.

I have tried it, it doesn't mount.
LaCie USB works w/ mac
