Need some help with Cheap Craig MP3 player (This time for real) =)

----Camino was acting a little screwy yesterday. Sorry for the 2 blank posts.----
They were advertising the cheap craig mp3 players at CVS and Toys R Us. So my daughter got one of
these for christmas.
It mounts on the desktop just fine and copying files is ok. iTunes doesn't recognize it ad an mp3
player. It displays 2 files on the lcd screen for the same song and it thinks that there are twice the
songs on there . One looks kind of normal "brian.mp3" and tthe very next one looks like
"_brian~1.mp3" . I thought it waqs since I was copying from a mac hfs to a fat32 drive. So I created a
ms-dos drive with Disk Copy and first copied the files there then to the mp3 player, with the same
results. I also tried renameing the files so they were 6 characters plus the .mp3, same results.
It will play one song then freeze or if you try to skip while a song is playing it will also freeze.
Google didn't have anything on these players, but shopping results.
Has anyone had this experience with other mp3 players and been able to get it to work?

Those are the famous "dot files" Mac OS X uses to store Mac-only data. There are whole programs out there dedicated to eradicating them on FAT disks. Use one of those to delete them.

ok, i got this one for my son, and i finally got music to download, but now it says key lock and won't let the music play...i have read the little book it comes with and no where does it say how to unlock this....can anyone please help?

sasseeemt, make sure that the button on the top is set to off. then hold down the bottom button on the panel(The one that says pause,) and the player will come on. Keylock is so it won't come on in your bag or pocket
I have a question, Paperwork says that this device playes wma files, I downloaded a few onto the device and when the player gets to the wma it tells me bad song, I have tried to change the properties on the wma files, and the quality seems to be sufficient, any ideas? could not find anything on the net for a site to Craig, nothing more in book. Vin
