I'm looking to upgrade the 9600 in my Rev.A Dual 2 Ghz G5 and was looking at the Radeon X800 XT Mac Edition. However, it seems stock at the usual online stores is quite slim and prices are anywhere from $2 to $50 above ATi's retail price.

Is there any word on new cards coming out at MacWorld that might explain this? I'd kind of assume that any new video hardware would be for the PCI-X in the newest G5s, not 8x AGP as in mine. Any gossip/advice is appreciated.

Yea, the pricing for video cards for Macs is insane. The pricing (even over MSRP) is just a reflection of what the users are willing to pay.
I doubt we'll see any new AGP cards for Macs (and not many, if any, for PCs).
