Hi, trying to work with my Imac and Logic Audio software, and I was wondering, does the soundcard of the Imac have Midi sounds?.
I know nothing about it, so I am trying to get Midi sounds from it and maybe it hasnīt like the Pc souncards have that they do.
Anyone can help?, I would apprecciate that or contact with any Logic Audio user.

If your program supports QuickTime, it has a software synth inside of it that uses a standard Roland (I believe) instrument package.
QuickTime 5.0 which is now available in pre-release will also support SoundFonts which are whole instrument sets.
I don't know much more than that...

Make sure you have installed the software synth part of QuickTime - having the quicktime extension load at startup is not enough - the QuickTime Music part must be enabled as well.

I use Cubase rather than logic.. But i'm sure what I have to say would apply to Logic aswell.. On Cubase there is an area on the main arrange window where you select what Midi ports your sound source would normally be connected too.. It's normally in the same area as where you might select Midi channels for each track. So keep hunting around where you do your port selection, and you should come across all sorts of alternative routings rather than Midi ports, such as "QuickTime" amongst others.. If in doubt, the Logic manual might be a good place to refer too..

QuickTime is integrated in MacOS, so you don't need to install it separately. Just be sure you have all the QuickTime extensions ON (controlpanels-extension manager). Try opening a midifile (xxxx.mid)
and listen how QuickTime (Musical Instruments) plays it reasonable well. IIf you use Logic : you have to create an Quicktime object in the Environment window (new-internal-Quicktime) and then you can select it in the Arrange window for each track.
