Can anyone recommend a good replacement adb mouse? My mom has my old computer, but can't seem to master the trackball that came w/ it. She wore out her other mouse. She really likes the new optical mouse on my iMac. I would like to find an optical one, but am not sure if there are any that are adb. Unfortunately, due to monetary concerns, a usb card is not going to be an option at this time.
If there aren't any optical mice available, what else would you recommend?
TIA

Check out Macally. Logitech is out of the ADB biz.

CDW has decent prices on them

The Kensington Turbo Mouse. Don't know what she tried to use before, but I love this input device. I'd be lost w/out it!

Does MacAlly have programmable software like Kensington? She does seem to like that feature of the trackball.
Am I correct in assuming that the only way she's going to get optical is with a converter of some sort?

Macally uses a driver to configure the buttons. very simple, and customizable for each application, and a global setting.

The only hitch I hit was for programming the second button for contextual menus in general. I programmed it for global, but left the default for the Finder. Took me a few minutes and a lot of cursing to figure that one out. Plain dumb, now that I look back on it.

BTW, it rocks in Quake II -> it comes with a sprocket Lib so you can configure it as needed.

Only complaint is the 3-foot cord, so now it plugs into my keyboard instead of a clean wraparound to my ColorSync monitor. Oh well.

USB PCI cards are not expensive. I just got one from Computers4sure for $29.95 +S&H. Had it in 2 days. The mouse will cost more.
