Last night, I moved a bunch of drives from an old Sawtooth G4 to a freshly built MDD. One of the drives is connected to an Acard AEC-6290M 2 port SATA PCI card. Now that it's in the MDD, I can't copy files to it to it. I reports "Error Code -36". I've checked the permissions and everything seems correct. I even tried checking "Ignore ownership on this volume". The following are some of the wierd anomilies that's happening:

1. Creating new folders to the drive works fine.
2. Saving a new document to the drive works fine.
3. Copying a file from another drive will result in the above error code.
4. Copying a folder full of files will result in the above error code, however(!), the folder itself will copy!?!

Please help. Thanks in advance.

Apple lists error -36 as a WebDAV related error. I don't understand how your getting this error based on that. Here's the link to Apple's page about the error.

Thanks for the link. I still can't make heads or tails of what the cause of the problem is. My only alternative will be to back up the drive then try reformatting it.

Do you have Disk Warrior to run on it? Also try running Disk Utility on it and choose repair drive. I'm just tossing out ideas because is still confuses me that your getting WebDAV errors with it.

Do you have any symbolic links on the drive that might be pointed to a WebDAV path or something weird like that?

No, not at all. It was just used to store files.
